Another busy week here. I'm away this weekend at my daughter's for a 12 hour crop on Saturday and then on Tuesday I'm going to my sister's in York for a week!! I've had several swaps to get finished, both paper and cross stitch and haven't even thought about what to take to do on Saturday! I have managed to do a bit of crafting though!! The theme for this week's card for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' is 'bright colours and/or sparkle'! I thought this little robin was nice and bright and I've 'sparkled' the snow on top of the postbox!


On the Bubbly Funk forum, Kaz has started a challenge to get us back to art journalling. She will supply the saying, we supply the inspiration!!!! The first saying was, 'Life is short so smile while you have teeth'!! Here's my effort!

The second saying was 'I used to have an open mind but then my brain fell out'!!!!! I found this quite difficult, but this is what I came up with!

I was direct to the NanaJoumo blog where they are setting a challenge every day this month. I've managed one so far!!! Day 3 was 'Hopes and fears' so I picked out the fears and this is the result!!

It will probably be a couple of weeks before I get to do any more pages, but I shall look forward to doing more, hopefully improving as we go!!! Bye for now.

We're not long back from two lovely weeks in Turkey, so I'm now trying to get back to normal - whatever that is!!! I've made this card for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallege' , but I'm a bit embarrassed to blog it! The theme was ' make a scene' so I found this topper from an old Making Cards and put it together without a lot of effort. At least it's one more for the collection!! I'll try harder next week!

I didn't do a card last week, and as I'm off on holiday on Friday for two weeks, decided if I was going to do one this week, it should be sooner, rather than later, so here it is!! This is for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' and the theme for this week was to make a card for a male. I thought these papers were a bit masculine!! The theme for this week's card for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' was 'Swirls'. I found this paper that had lovely swirls on it, some of which were covered by the embellishments!! I'm afraid this was done at the last minute, as I had forgotten all about it this week, and I feel that it has suffered because of this!!!

Here is the next card for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' The theme this week is for a single layer, or very simple card. I decided to give the card a bit of colour with a distress ink before stamping, but I'm afraid it's made it look a bit messy and smudged? I'll be interested in any comments you have!!

I was very cross with myself last week as I made a card for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' early in the week and then forgot to blog it!!! This week has been really busy, but this afternoon, in between packing to go to my daughter's for a couple of nights, and sorting out stuff to take for a crop tomorrow, I decided to do this week's card!!!! The theme is 'black, white and any other one colour' I just used a couple of black and white papers and chose red embellishments for the other colour!

Another week, another card for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' This week the theme was 'reindeer' so yet another card courtesy of 'Making Cards'!! Doing these makes you realise how quickly the weeks are going. We'll soon be on a countdown!!!!! Hope to see you next week!

As I didn't get a chance last week to do a card for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' , I decided to combine the two themes this week!! Last week's was 'spots before your eyes' and this week's 'seeing stars'! What is very unusual for me, is the fact I've used pink again, which is not my norm!! I thought that these papaers, from a magazine, fitted the theme quite well!

Here is this week's card for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge'. The theme was to use anything pink or purple which is outside my comfort zone! I remembered these papers that I had from a card magazine so here it is. I was very surprised with the colours on the photo. The pinks look completely different, but IRL they match quite well!!!

I've been mia for the last couple of weeks, and haven't made cards for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge'!! As this week's theme is 'anything' I thought I should try and get back into the swing of things and make one, so here is another simple card made from my fave 'Making Cards' papers!!

Going away for a week put me off my stride for making cards for 'craftyhazelnutschristmas challenge' so I need to get back to it!! This week's theme is 'wings' and as I found two images that I liked, I thought I'd make two cards!!! They are both very simple, but I was quite pleased with them. Hope you agree!!

This is for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' and the theme this week was to use ribbon. I again used papers from Making Cards, silver mirror board, a silver sentiment and some red stickles, oh and some red ribbon, and this is what it turned out like!!

I didn't think I'd do a card this week for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge'. We were in Shropshire last weekend for the Bubbly Funk retreat which was fab-u-lous!!!! Got home at tea time Monday with an incredible amount of sorting out to do! Anyway, I couldn't resist a peek to see what the theme was and decided to do a quickie! The theme was 'distressing' in any form, so I tore some paper for the background and added an extra deer and a sentiment. Bye for now!!

Another busy week here, with the Bubbly Funk retreat this weekend - I can't wait, they're so much fun!! In between packing my craft trolley I decided to do a quick card for Hazel's 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge'!! The theme this week was 'photo inspiration'. The photo was of some Christmas stockings full of teddies and other toys, and we could use what we wanted, including the colour scheme from it! I stuck to the 'stocking' part of it and found some stocking paper, a stamp and finished it off with a couple of stocking peel-offs! Back to the packing now!!!

I didn't think I was going to be able to do a card this week for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' as we were going away for the weekend, but as it was cancelled, I did a very quick one today!!!! The theme was using die cuts, so I used three Christmas Tree dies. It would have been disappointing to have missed a week, so all is well!! Bye for now.

Today I've been doing two swaps that I'm in! The first is a circle journal swap on Bubbly Funk and the theme was 'Public Art' in your local area so off I went to Ealing!!


The second swap is a Calico Dolly swap on UKS which has caused a bit of head scratching at times. This is the second to last bit and was 'Accessories' so I made a top hat and some wings, as seen in the photo!

The next (and last) doll I get will need 'beads and embellishments' so I'm on a bit more familiar ground there!! Now to get them wrapped up and ready to post. I'm keeping my fingers very tightly crossed because I think mine plus a couple more, are holed up somewhere, so watch this space!!!

This week's challenge on 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' was to use a Christmas song or carol. I used a stamp with 'have yourself a merry little christmas ' and three trees on, and made the following card!

Here's this week's card for Hazels Christmas challenge! The theme is to use circles, so I managed two!!! I glued the circles on to the vellum background and it's looking a bit 'crinkly' so I hope it dries flatter!! Maybe I should have used glue dots?? I then stickled round the outside of the circles, on the snow and in the corners, but it doesn't show up very well in the photo!!

Another week for the Craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge!! This week's theme was Christmas foliage and/or flowers. Once again I used papers and toppers from my favourite 'Making Cards'!! I'm getting quite a collection of Christmas cards now!

Here we are again with this week's card for 'craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge' The theme was for a square card, so the sky's the limit!!! This one was done using papers from Making Cards, which I love!! We've been doing a circle journal on Bubbly Funk for a few months now, and some of the girls wanted to see what we've been doing!! I thought if it's on my blog they have a choice of whether to look or not. Some like to have a surprise when it gets back to them! This double layout is the one I posted yesterday and it is Chrissie's 'A Magical Christmas' Hope she likes it!!

Hello again! This week Hazel's Christmas challenge has moved on from gold and is now silver!! I used a silver backing which actually has trees embossed on (not very clear!!) I kept it plain and simple with three trees in green and silver and a silver sentiment. Another one for the collection!!

I've been wanting to have a go at journalling for ages!! I bought a book last May, just after the BF retreat, but it took a while to do anything with it!! I'm hoping to get lots of inspiration this May - be warned Kaz!!! Anyway here are my first two pages. I've just finished the first one, and did the second a while age but didn't get around to blogging it!! Any constructive criticism welcome!!!!!

Another week, and another card for Hazel's Christmas challenge. This week's theme was 'Go for Gold' so I have a gold embossed sentiment mounted on gold Mirror card. Soon be time for next week's!!

After a long time, I am delighted that I've finally managed to log on to my blog again!!! Can't believe that Christmas and New Year have been and gone. It was a good one here, although I had a tooth abcyss (spelling????!)and was on anti-biotics!!
